| The proof of the pudding is in those smiles ! |
The BBC feature we saw lately about how many older people in London were benefitting from arts and crafts inspired us to expand our Pampering for the Elderly afternoon and put our heads together and devise something practical and enjoyable with a creative outlet for the members of Age Concern, Redhill. Loveworks.org volunteer Zoe Baker who is an artist led the project and collaborated with Carol Cockbain, who runs creative card-making courses and designed cards that achieved a really attractive professional look but were relatively easy to make using prefab decoupage card.
Loveworks.org volunteers Laura, Naomi, Veronica and Linda were on hand to assist with cutting and sticking and provision of a homemade cream tea to finish off with.
It was a tad controversial for some members that Age Concern agreed to move bingo off it’s regular slot for 4 weeks to make room our Christmas Card-Making course - but the real proof of the pudding is the smiles on those faces !
